Bronson Mulholland House - Palatka, Florida |
The Times They Are A-Changin'. The famous Bob Dylan song once again seems an appropriate anthem these days, but places like the Bronson Mulholland house in Palatka, Florida stand like a fortress against the the tempest of time providing a measure of comfort in an uncertain world. Also called Sunny Point, Judge Isaac H. Bronson's historical house along the beautiful St. Johns has seen the Florida sun rise and set on both good times and bad, depression and celebration, wars and winter tourists in its long and storied past. Though the walls of the Bronson Mulholland house can't talk, the lives of those who's names are inscribed in its history find voice again through the guided tour offered there and though the tour is free, a donation in this case is warranted. The Bronson Mulholland house is one of those rare places you find that somehow gets overlooked by all but a few leaving you both sad for what others have missed and glad you're not one of them.
